such is life

It's been a hectic past few days, hence the lack of blog updates. I've been home from work taking care of the hubby. He went into the dentist with some (what he thought was) minor tooth pain and it ended up being an abscess and huge infection. One of his front teeth is a partial fake and the nerve was completely dead. It was slowly dying over time and the infection from the dead nerve cause the tooth next to it to get infected as well.

Day 1: He was on massive amounts of vicodin, ibuprofen and penicillin. I think he either had an allergic reaction to the penacilin or the Novocain, we're not sure, but his face is now the size of a football. No lie. He's hardly recognizable.

Day 2: He was in extreme pain and continued the vicodin. He said quite a few hilarious things and spent most of the day sleeping.

Day 3: He went back to the Doc today and was put on clindomiacin (sp?) in hopes that the swelling will go down. He's having to double up. We might have to make an appt now with an oral surgeon because the Doc thinks the infection might have spread further. Today he told me that his face had swelled up so much he couldn't even pick his nose. He was pretty disappointed about it.
